FAAN bows to workers’ demand, to pay 27% salary arrears, furniture, others
Following agitations by workers in its employ at the weekend, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has agreed to increase staff allowances and claims for workers in the organisation.
This was contained in a communique signed by leaders of three aviation unions and the management team of FAAN at the end of their meeting Monday in Lagos.
The unions signatories include, Kehinde Rotimi, for Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, Olayinka Abioye, for National Union of Air Transport Employees, and Emeka Njoku, for National Union of Pensioners while, FAAN was represented by Mc Abraham Inajoh and BJ Adeyemi for director and manager human resources respectively.
With this development, FAAN has accepted to meet the workers’ demands by commencing the payment of furniture grants by January 2016 and the modalities for the payment of 27% salary arrears will be worked out before Monday December 7th 2015.
