PMB Speaks To Ganduje On Telephone During Prayer Session
President Muhammad Buhari yesterday had a telephone conversation with Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a special prayer session organised by the Kano government for the president’s quick recovery and safe return to the country.
The phone call, LEADERSHIP gathered, came in when Governor Ganduje was leading the prayer procession and was put on speaker for all present to listen to the conversation.
The telephone conversation lasted for about five minutes, during which the president commended Nigerians for their prayers for him and assured that he was feeling better.

Ganduje: Your Excellency, how is your health condition?
PMB: “Alhamdulillah,” meaning, I’m grateful to Allah.
Ganduje: Your Excellency, from your voice, it’s confirmed that you are in good health condition. Right now at Africa House, Government House, Kano, we are together with all the famous Muslim clerics across the entire Kano and are praying for your recovery. We are praying to Allah (SWT) to bring back your good health, our nation to be better and to protect you, guide your administration and bring you back home safely and healthier.
PMB: Extend my regards. May Allah reward them all.
Clerics out there shout out: “Allahu Akbar”, meaning, God is great.
Ganduje: I instructed all the Imams and clerics across the 44 local governments in the state which has over 7,000 Jumaat mosques to specifically pray for you on the coming Friday.
PMB: “Masha Allah” meaning I’m thankful to Allah. May Allah accept the prayers.
Ganduje: We are thankful, Your Excellency.
Kano State commissioner of information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who confirmed the telephone conversation said the call was made around 6pm.
During the prayer session, various verses from the Holy Qur’an were recited.
According to Governor Ganduje, from the voice of the president, it was obvious that his health had greatly improved and expressed hope for his quick recovery.
“We prayed for Buhari to win and he won. It is now mandatory on us to rally round his government and pray for his wellbeing,” Ganduje stated.
In his remarks, the commander-general of the state Hisbah Board, Sheik Aminu Daurawa, said the president needed prayers not only for his speedy recovery, but also divine guidance to lead Nigeria to greatness.
“He needs our encouragement, support and prayers for him to succeed and build a better Nigeria,” he stated.
The special adviser to the governor on religious affairs, Alhaji Ali Baba, said the prayer was organised to invoke Allah’s protection and good health for the president and for the sustenance of peace and unity as well as economic growth and prosperity of the country.
