PRESIDENT Buhari writes Senate of his return President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday signed and transmitted a letter to the National Assembly informing the legislators of his return to duties.
The letter stated in part: “In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), I write to intimate that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, 21st August, 2017, after my medical follow-up in the United Kingdom.”
The president who left Nigeria on May 7, for what the presidency said was a follow up medical treatment for an unknown ailment returned to Nigeria on Saturday.
He had equally sent a letter the the lawmakers to inform them of his trip, and that the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would act on his behalf.
